Client: Corpus Christi ISD
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
The Corpus Christi Independent School District aims to continue its Elementary School replacement program with the Los Encinos Elementary School project, again hiring Gignac Architects as the prime professional for the project. Located on the west side of Corpus Christi, the existing Los Encinos Elementary School was becoming an outdated facility and needed to be replaced with a modern school building. Our team has designed a beautiful new facility to LEED Gold standards, that will be constructed on an adjacent parcel of property. The new facility has 44 classrooms, media center, “cafetorium” and gymnasium and can accommodate up to 750 students. Interior classrooms have vertical daylighting devices to bring natural daylight into learning spaces. This brand-new, energy efficient building is expected to increase property in the area and become a beacon for the surrounding community.
